Top Ten Profile Picture Mistakes.
No Photo. This gives out so many bad vibes, can not be bothered, can not cope, or even worse, you have something to hide.
Company Logo. Again are you hiding something or is it just that you did not understand the meaning of a profile picture.
A Cartoon or Drawing. It's still not a photo of you, even if it looks like you. The only people to get away with this style of thing would be an artist, cartoonist or designer that had drawn the picture themself.
Poor Quality Picture. Be it under exposed, blurred, pixellated or badly cropped. All these show a lack of attention to detail, not an impression you want to give.
A Picture of Family. Dogs and cats count in this as well. Even if you are in the picture we don't need any added extras.
An Old Photo. We are all getting older but that is no excuse to turn back the clock 20 years.
Nil by Mouth. We don't want to see you eating or drinking, treat the picture as if this was your first time in front of this person, would you turn up for a meeting 1/2 cut and with a pint in your hand?
The Joke Shot. We all have pictures in fancy dress or of us doing something stupid, again if you would not turn up to a meeting dressed like that don't use it.
The Arty Shot. We want to see you, not a silhouette, high key, black and white, or super glam you. The only time you could used one of these is if you took the picture as a photographer and was using it to show off your skills.
You've Changed. I still think I have a bit of the Brad Pitt about me, but you must never use a picture that is not you and try to pass it off as you. This might seem a bit of a joke but people buy people and doing this starts your relationship off on the wrong foot, you can only make one first impression.
